Personality Structure & Measurement: Cross-Cultural Perspectives

In our cross-cultural studies, we have tested the generalizability across cultures of the "Big Five" and other higher-order personality dimensions, drawing on the NEO personality inventories and the natural language of personality traits (i.e., the lexical approach) in diverse cultures. We address issues of cross-cultural measurement equivalence and test the cross-cultural validity of individualism-collectivism and self-determination theories.
